I'm just looking at a bottle for general school writing and doodling, will the baystate blue stain a Lamy Vista?

I currently use either blue or blue-black for note-taking. (Pelikan M400)

The main problem is BSB with Lamy plastics. The Vista being plastic would not be my choice with BSB. It works great in Pelikan Pelikano pens.

If you don't need a permanent (waterproof) ink, then just pick a color you like. You can wander through the categories at Swisher Pens.

The most comprehensive list of all inks with scan reviews are at FPN, with index by brand/color here. It would be easier to list some you are thinking of trying.

If you like the BSB color, then another choice I would recommend is Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue. Other nice blues are Waterman's Florida Blue, Lamy Blue, or Visconti Blue....but nothing compares to BSB.

Just ordered a Vista in F and some Borealis Black. Incans and Fountain pens... Old school but so much fun to use.
