The HR function on mine is nice but it has a drawback--the strap to hold the wireless hr monitor around the chest. It's an elastic strap with a quick disconnect attached to a few inches of plastic. I have never gotten to a point were I don't realize it's there. I've run, hiked and biked with it, even spent a 12 hour shift with it, and I just kept thinking that I need to just glue it on next time--but then it'd probably fall off
Other than that the rest of the functions are spot on.
Maybe you might want to consider a Polar watch if you're considering primarily HR functions. I have heard that they are good, but don't have the options of the Suunto brand.

I was wondering it the Suunto could pick up the Polar strap info. That would take care of the problem you have with the strap. The analysis software from suunto sounds kewl though. What's it like when you upload the HR data? Please elaborate.I spent a lot of time "trying out" watches before I settled on this one.
