Fenix E01 vs E05, a comparison

Hello all,

I saw someone in another forum asking about the E05 versus the E01. I own both and decided to compare them, it got long enough to put on a blog post of its own, so here it is: http://www.puremango.co.uk/2011/11/fenix-e01-vs-fenix-e05-review/

I'm not a big flashaholic so this is more a layman's comparison of the two lights, but I'd like to hear your feedback, if you think it's useful or I'm full of Shih Tzus, or anything you might have to say either about my review or about the two flashlights.

I think the subject between the two has been well documented already but I decided to read the review and I gave up after the bit about the EO1 lasting for 30 minutes after full brightness which in fact is far from the truth more like hours in moon mode.

:/ That was a silly mistake! I've corrected it. Sorry about that. I should have known better as I remember reading this-is-nascar's detailed runtime graphs before I bought the E01 in the first place.

A decent basic review, your beamshots go a long way for illustration - 'pics worth a thousand words' kind of thing. I find that most folks outside of CPF don't really think about beam characteristics (i.e. flood vs throw considerations) very much, so that's helpful.

BTW there is no such thing as HAIII, HA is type III anodizing.

They are two different critters! The E01 is the Turtle & the E05 is the Rabbit. I have both & like them equilly.
