Hello,
Received my HM60R today believe it may have a problem.

The lock/unlock function does not work as the per the manual Instructions.

The manual instructions (as does the marking near the power button) to push and hold the power button for 3 seconds to either lock or unlock the light....It is actually 6 seconds.

To engage the lock/unlock function it says the red light will blink 3x....this is only partly true, when trying to lock the light and the button is held down, the spotlight will come on first for about 6 seconds, then the red light will blink 3x before turning off...The spotlight should not be coming on at all at this time, nor take 6 seconds before the red light blinking 3x.

The unlock funtion works as per the manual says it does (other than 3sec actually being 6sec).

I suspect your HM60R is from the same batch as mine. I say that because there is one particular vendor that was the first to ship these. I got mine on Saturday. most of the other vendors here in the US were not even shipping until today (or even later). Mine seems to take more like 10 seconds to make it lock/unlock. I have no issue with it being that long. But it's too bad the the 3 seconds is printed right on the light itself.

BTW, I am really enjoying the light. The one it will more or less replace is a Nitecore HC50. That light was limited to a wide angle beam only. So having both as options on the Fenix is really great. And as the LED efficiencies have improved, the battery life is quite better.

A clarification to my previous post. Today Timed it using a sweepsecond hand, instead of "1001, 1002, etc. Mine needs 6 seconds to lock or unlock.

Mine also needs 6 seconds to lock/unlock, but the red light flashes 4 times instead of 3 when locked.
When unlocked, the red led again flashes 4 times and then the red led stays on

Yes. I observe the same thing. It make sense about turning on with Red when unlocking. It needs to turn on in one of the two modes. And Red, being less bright, would be better if you wanted to unlock it in a situation where you wanted to preserve your night vision. So I just hold to turn off, then hold again to turn on in spotlight mode.

It is surprising that Fenix missed how the electronics would behave in the finished product. At the minimum, they could have rewritten the users manual to match the product.
