I am looing at both fenix lights the:
LOD and the PD10

Im aware the LOD runs on 1xAAA and how its UI works.

Can anyone tell me how the PD10 UI works and what mode it starts in. I know it runs on 1xcr123

Also which one should I go With? The use will be a keychain light.

Another good resource with tons of info about the PD10 vs. LOD:

Amazing the stuff they have there, you should be able to find just what your looking for :twothumbs

Also, for the opinion part of your post, I like the PD10 better, especially the Ti XP-G. I almost bought one for use with a RCR123, but it's just too expensive and hard to find (limited run, only 300 m ade).

Have you looked at the quark mini 123? Its significantly smaller than the pd10 and uses an xp-g which I think is better for keychain carry as its a bit floodier. Its also significantly cheaper which doesn't hurt either. Honestly though sometimes I regret switching from AAA to cr123 for my keychain because you will notice the difference in size on your keychain, but the extra runtime and huge output difference is hard to say no to.

The PD10 is current regulated so you can expect a flat output and no strobe effects. The L0D is controlled by PWM. It has one of the worse frequency I've ever seen, at least, the new model (LD01) has a much better frequency, although still perceptible. My choice between the 2, no brainer, the PD10

For a keychain light, i'd recommend that you check out the ITP A3, its very similar to the LD01, but slightly smaller and quite a bit cheaper.

4Sevens is a great site to compare these specs.

Both lights have 3 settings Lo-Med-Hi.
The LD01 starts in Med, the PD10 in Lo.

I agree with the Quark Mini recommendation. If you're leaning toward the PD10 then get the Mini123. Same output, better battery life, smaller profile, cheaper and access to hidden UI functions like SOS, strobe, and beacon.

I've had a LD01 SS on my keychain for the past year or so and have really enjoyed it. The output is pretty good and it has worked correctly every time I've used it. Buy one and see how you like it.
