I have a Fenix P1D that I bought a while ago and use rechargable CR123s in it and am very happy. However I was thinking about getting a Fenix P3D Premium (Q5) Cree 7090 XR-E LED Flashlight

and was curious if I could use my existing rechargables with it?

Yes you can.Runtime will be less than with CR123's.Fenix store sells a 3x123 tube for the P3D.I think I read that it can take 12v or so.

You can use rechargables and the lower modes will function properly.

The P3D has a buck circuit tested to 16v(it might be able to go higher). 2 RCR123 batteries will be a good amount below that voltage even at full charge.

It will work fine with RCR123s(at a lower runtime of course).

I'm running RCR123A's in my P3D. They work great, but you'll get no warning at all before it dies if you're using protected cells.
