Sorry if this is a noobish question but what would be a pair of good rechargeable batteries with charger, for this flashlight.

I also read somewhere that one isn't always able to use rechargeable batteries, something about fit, is this right.

Is a "primary batterie" a non rechargeable batterie?

Any recommendations.

If you want to use rechargable Li-Ion cells, I recommend a pair of AW Li-Ion cells and a WF-139 charger. You will need a couple of aluminum spacers to charge RCR123A cells in the WF-139. You may have seen a thread where I mentioned that protected re-chargable RCR123A cells wouldn't fit in the PD30. While that was the case with some Ultrafire RCR123A cells I had, I dug out a couple of AWs cells that I'd bought months before and they fit great, the tail cap screws on all the way.

The charger/cells/spacers are available from AW directly, Lighthound, or 4Sevens. Note: The 15MM Aluminum Charging spacer is at the bottom of the WF-139 page at lighthound.

You could also go with the Pila IBC charger, but you'd need a pair of dummy CR123A cells in order to charge the AW cells. There is currently a group buy going on through FlashlightZ on the IBC charger. Here's the thread.

Yes, "primaries" are non-rechargable Lithium batteries. You can use just about any brand, Surefire, Energizer, Duracell Ultra, etc.

Normal spacers work too because the Pila comes with spacers, so you just use those and an extra pair.

Like so...

Upon recomendation I use AW cells and the Pila (that`s mine in the picture) in my P3D, can`t fault either of them.

Thanks for mentioning the spacers that come with the IBC. I didn't think it came with spacers. This prompted me to search "the drawer", and I found the bag with the spacers and international wall plug

Regarding the AW batteries it says something about :

These cells are not meant for use in any Fenix but the P3D, T1, TK10, and TK11 flashlights. Use in the P2D and P1D is not recommended and could damage the light.

here

should i be concerned about this?

Does the Pila IBC do a better job than the WF 139?

Is there a difference between CR123 and Cr123a?

The PD30 is just an updated version of the P3D. It will happily accept RCR123 cells.
