Fenix PD30

Just got my first Fenix, a PD30. While I like the light, I guess I was expecting more out of 220 lumens. It's bright, but doesn't seem to be that much brighter than my Surefire E2E. I'm completely new to high quality flashlights so if this is a stupid question just let me know. For what beams it does put out, they are very nicely shaped, even in low mode.

Fenix has tended to overestimate outputs in times past, but recently they've been better. Surefire consistently underestimates lumen outputs.
However if we're talking about the old incan E2E, the Fenix should be much brighter. Have you taken them outside to compare yet?
Another simple way to gauge overall brightness is to do the ceiling bounce test. Get situated in a dark room and shine the lights one at a time at the ceiling. And compare how the overall room is illuminated.
A final thought is it has always been difficult to compare the light coming from an LED to that of an incan. To me incans always seem a bit brighter. I guess that it's due to the nice full spectrum given off by the incan compared to the limited peak wavelengths given off by white LEDs.

I think PD30 is brighter but LED and incan are different.

Thanks for the answers. This is not an older E2E but is an incandescent bulb, actually just got it 2 months ago or so. I did take them outside and there is a slight difference in the brightness. I do like the increased runtime on the Fenix, just not sure it will totally replace the Surefire.
