So I just bought this TK11-R5 maybe 5-6 months ago and I baby it as I think it's such a classic and compact design. It hasn't been dropped once even with being carried and used on miles and miles of walking. I do use it all the time in it's low/high modes by turning the head when I go for night walks.
I went to put it in low mode by twisting the head to the right and this happened. For those of you not familiar with the "older" TK11 design the aluminum base with the led on it is supposed to stay attached to the bezel with the reflector as one sealed piece. I guess the head being permanently glued isn't the case :) My question to any of you is what glue should I use and how much to permanantely re-lock the aluminum piece that holds the xp-g R5 emitter and drivers to the bezel threads. I have blue loc-tite but that's supposedly the less permanent one. Should I use a few drops of the more permanent loc-tite glues? Obviously whatever Fenix used bit the dust with only a few hundred turns of the head to change modes. I tried to wipe out as much of the crusty blue glue from the bare aluminum as possible. I really hope the reflector isn't loose too now.
