Fenix TK11 versus Eagletac T10C2

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

I have the M20 R2 Premium and the T10C2 - my impressions:

I got the M20 first - I was very impressed. Very nicely made, the holster is great, battery holder works well, nice lanyard, etc. It's very bright. The UI is pretty basic, I like the 3 modes low/med/high but the strobe to me is useless and kind of annoying to have to go through that to get back to low from the high setting. Overall, very nice light.

Then, about a week after I got the M20 - the T10C2 arrived.... well, all of a sudden I wasn't as impressed with the M20 anymore. Not to say the M20 is bad, but I was just SUPER impressed with this Eagletac light for the price and that it's a new company. SOLID little light. The thing is bright, brighter than the M20. THe beam is MUCh whiter and I didn't realize how yellow/green the M20 is until I put it side by side with the T10C2. Spill is better on the T10 and although I haven't tested the throw yet, I"m guessing the T10 will win.

One thing I wish the T10 had was a low mode like the M20 (it has I think 65 lum & 295 lum) - the 65 is still really bright. The UI is simple and I like that. The T10 tailstands which is helpful but I "think" if you switch the tailcap on the M20 it will to so don't make that a deal breaker.

The stainless steel bezels on both these lights are nice. The T10 is smaller than the M20. Overall if I had to pick/keep one..... Hmm. It would be very tough. ... Ok, I had to go look at them again :twothumbs For the price, you just can't beat the T10C2... It is a very well made extremly bright light with good throw, good spill, and a nice white beam with no rings.

The M20 is more expensive but comes with some nice accessories and has a low low and a strobe, good throw, it plenty bright, however a slightly yellow/green tint (although this is kind of nice outside making vegetation look a little more "alive")...

That probably didn't help you make a decision did it?... OK - If I could only have one, I'd take the T10C2!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their info. I was on the fence between the Fenix TK10-TK11 and the EagleTac T10c2. Ended up going with the T10 mostly for the money savings. Only thing I don't like about the T10 is the bezel. I prefer the more aggresive looking "tactical bezel" look of the Fenix. So much for using it as a defense weapon. Oh wait, I carry my vaquero grande for that :P The t10 will be replacing my leatherman monarch 500 (who makes the LED for this??). Im sure i'll be more than happy. Thanks again guys, especially Lighthouse one for saving me like 6 bucks with the coupon code.http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/member.php?u=15369

Have you received it yet? I'm expecting mine Friday or Saturday. When u get your review it here and I will too.

I have both lights as well and I'm pretty sure the T10C2 does not throw as well has the M20(not mine anyway), especially with a SMO reflector installed. Higher lumen output and smoother beam perhaps, but the M20 Warrior has a higher lux reading resulting in a brighter hotspot and longer throw.

Just got my T10C2 today. Great workmanship. Thing is almost perfect from the box! I need to get some batteries tomorrow so I'll report on the beam later.

Hi all. Got some batteries finally. The Eagletac T10C2 is one awesome light. The beam is bright and fairly large with a equally large spill. It lights up a dark room as well as the interior of a vehicle. It's hard to believe that this size light can put out so much light :eek:! I don't have a TK11 so can't compare (other threads have better comparisons) but I think that for my use (Police patrol) this will be a very good light!

The T10C2 is truly a beast for its size.

Does anyone know a place to get a nice belt holder for the Eagletac t10c2? The one that comes with it is junk.

LOL while writing this I looked over and saw one of the Leather Monarch 500's I'm selling. Low and behold, the T10 fits perfectly into its MUCH better made case.

But I'm still open to ideas if anyone's found a good holster for it.

Re: Fenix TK11R2 versus Eagletac T10C2

Having used Surefire lights for the last few years, L4 Lumamax and G2L Nitrolon, I wanted a somewhat 'stronger' light but hopefully with the same reliability as the Surefire.

Thanks to the posts on the forum, I did some research and narrowed it down to the Fenix TK11R2 and the EagleTac T10C2. The main reason these two and not the Olight Premium Warrior is that I wanted a very simple UI with basically a 'somewhat' low... and high option only.

Having survived an armed robbery in my house (in a nice neighborhood) and after installing a high quality security system, coupled with my Sig P220 .45ACP and Glock 19 9mm, I wanted a bright bedside light, a bright light downstairs in my office and either one that I could take on the road with me as a primary for my G2L which is usually on the road with me.

Both the Fenix and EagleTac come with lifetime warranties similar to the Surefires and this was a plus. One reason I did not order the Olight was that the warranty was not lifetime.

After seeing how the lights performed in the super dark basement, around the nooks and crannies and in the long distance throw way across dark space... I prefer the EagleTac for the upstairs bed-stand and the Fenix for downstairs and on the road use.

The Eagletac's light, for me, is easier to point and see through in the bedroom and hallways and living area upstairs. The light is extremely bright but w/o the intense 'spotlight' effect of the Fenix.

The Fenix will shine in the long and necessary throw needed for outside and in the basement.

Both lights are excellent! Either one will do the job well.

If I had to choose between one light or the other, I'd take the EagleTac as it's twenty bucks less expensive, lighter, thinner and very effective for what its advertised to do.

The Fenix is heavier, has a more solid feel to it and appears to be built like a tank. Though the EagleTac is no slouch when it comes to build quality or being a solid, well-built light.

I use CR123A's in both of the lights and feel re: both lights... I got my money's worth on each of them... however, more so with the EagleTac.

The T10C2 is my all-round favorite light now, for its excellent beam and simple, no-fuss UI. Though I don't have a TK11, I have several other Fenix lights and find them very useful. Sounds like you found just the right torches for your needs.

It seems that when people say if they could only choose one light, the EagleTac is always the choice. I have to agree, as an all round, "live with it everyday" light the EagleTac T10C2 is hard to beat.
