Still a working progress. Someone dropped this off and asked if I can make this brighter and last longer. I was not very happy with the request as this light holds a lot of value--especially from how well it held itself during its time. Nonetheless, requests are request and I have to uphold them unless I don't want to be paid.
Lets start, shall we?
The request from the owner was that he wanted to use this as a back-up thrower light. After thorough debate with the owner, I got what I wanted. We are stay with the original emitter but ditching the 2xAA format. I recommend a 1.4a AMC driver with a 2-stage just like his original driver. I recommend him going 18650 because of the run-times and shorter body.
The goal for him is to get as much throw possible from it. The goal for me is to keep everything behind the reflector stock because I could not see myself destroying a gorgeous beam made by the XR-E.
