FINALLY -- A Light Fits 3AA/1D Adaptor (x2)

After being greatly disappointed by the fact the 3AA into single D-size adaptor was a hair too big for the 2D MagLite (see http://www.candlepowerforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=000825#000000 ), I finally found an all-aluminum Garrity Ozark Trail 2D at Wal-Mart (yes, even in Hawaii!) and the adapters slide in smooth as silk:

Finally. A great heatsink base light for the 5-watt. Now just have to find a 5-watt...

Great find MR Bulk. I acually saw one of those lights at my local Wal-Mart. I bought an 2AA for some 5mm LED's mod.

Hey MrBulk

You can get 5 watt Luxeon Stars now. Not white, but colors. I purchased some cyan, and a cyan side emitting 5 watt, for testing with a reflector. I'll check out the local Wally Mart for this flashlight.
