I powered up my xenlight 25/50 watt ballast and dl50 bulb.
the ballast has a lot higher frequency buzz to it.
I had the bulb lying horizontally over the edge of my dining room table and it burnt a big black spot into the edge of the table in less than a minute - a bit of smoke - a non contact radiation burn - the bulb was not frying itself - kool.
nice old oak table - very not kool mom told me it is old and worth 3000 bucks or more when she gave it to me.
I told grandpa to stay back because it was emitting radiation.
at least I was not lying.
it is nice and bright even when running at 25 watts.
the ballast goes into power save 25 watt mode if I turn the voltage down past 9 volts or so.
at about 6 volts it shuts off and will not turn back on untill you turn the voltage supply off then on again and supplying more than 10 volts or so.
I ran it for about 8 minutes and the ballast got luke warm.
it is a bright sunny day out side and my house is not that dark inside.
