Fireworks, pets and DAP therapy

In Holland (and I'm sure a lot of other countries), it is customary to have fireworks to welcome the New Year. My dog is very scared these days, and I just read something about DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) therapy .
Is there anybody who has experience with this?

I don't know if you are fortunate enough to have a local veterinarian that you know and trust, but they would probably be the best people to ask for advice concerning such matters. If you'd normally have to go in to the vet to get an animal tranquilizer anyway, you may want to ask them if they know of this new therapy and whether they feel it's safe & effective before you try it out on your pup. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
