I just got my first light today, Scorpion, but I think it's a little to big on the bezel end for me to carry in slacks. I looked around and found the SF E2 but was wondering how it compares to the Scorpion in the real world (what I mean is lumens and candlepower etc... I don't know what all that means).

Thanks for your help.

First off, WELCOME ( that's a big welcome!!) and there's plenty of help here. I don't have a Scorpion or the SF E2E but I believe the output is around the same (lumens) as is the run time, but the beam picture may be different. The E2E does not have a focusing bezel (not a big deal anyway as most focusing bezels do a poor job of providing a multipurpose beam anyway) but has the benefit of being narrower than the Scorpion, has a pocket clip, a lower output lamp availiable with longer runtime, a solid lock-out tailcap to avoid accidental discharge, a mil-spec HAIII finish ( the fit and finish of the SF lights is great) An optional Kl-1 LED conversion bezel (much longer runtime), numerous colored filters and beamshapers avaliable along with various accessories and a "you break it we fix it" guarrantee. Anyhoo you should be getting the picture by now. Others probably have comments and corrections for me. And you should search for beamshots and reviews (as well as links to others review sites) of all the lights you consider as well. Good luck and enjoy!!!

the E2e will carry easier due to its pocket clip, thinner diameter and no rubber sleeve. the beam will be cleaner and round.

Check out: http://thelightsite.cruxial.com/ .

Go to the review of the Streamlight Scorpion and you will see a nice size comparison picture of the Scorpion and Surefire E2 (it really is amazing how much smaller the E2 is) and you can compare the beam pics in the different reviews.

Hope this helps,
Pat

I didn't give you the direct links because if I remember correctly his site only counts people who come in through the front door as it were. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
