First xml -T6 single led light build.

Hi All

Just thought i'd show my first attempt at a single led bike light, it started off in life as a topeak whitelight but after siiting idle for a few years i thought i'd have a go at modding it. Out came the original led and in went a xml T6 and a 1a buckpuck powered by a 7.4v lipoly battery. I ground down a 35mm lens flange so it ended up at 26mm diameter and reassembled it all, no beamshots as yet but it seems prety bright!. If anyones got an idea of how many theoretical lumens it's delivering i'd like to know!.

I'm a bit stuck now, i've got a 5v - 8.4v 2000mA 3 mode driver from dealextreme but theres no wiring instructions with it. http://img.dxcdn.com/productimages/sku_162784_3.jpg
could someone point me in the right directions to connect up the Battery + and - / led + and -?.

hm, thats a hard one :/
My guess is that the red wire goes to LED + and the otherone to LED - .
There is some text printed to the board, what does it say?
Is there any GND, VCC marked?

The pink wire runs to a joint labled L+ so i take it that must be the led positive, there is a GND labled solder location and a VDD solder pad - i take it these would be the battery + and - .
Looking forward to running the xml at 2A instead of 1A , i've used the light and it works really well.

At the bottum you have in the middle a big copper pad, I think that is the batt positive, en the outher ring the batt negetive.

thijsco19, i think you're looking at the 2.5A driver as this indeed has a central pad and an outer ring. I've got one of those so that's answered one of my future questions:grin2:. It's the 2A one pictured i'm not sure of in the pics - anyone?

I fitted the 2.5A driver into the light tonight - beam shots to follow when i can get out on the trail next week. It's pretty good compared to the 1A buckpuck though!!.
