Ian, I notice there is no shadow caused by the tent. Did you use a flash?
For camping, the best lights for me are as follows (all my camping is done out of my 4WD, so car based camping);
1 Coleman North Star....this is a gas burner lantern that throws out 1000's of lumens. Great for preparing dinner with and eating. It runs off the gas bottle that powers my 3 burner stove. It has about 10 different settings so is a light for all occasions, unless of course you are walking into your campsite, then I wouldn't use it. Too big and fragile to carry with gas bottle.
2 no name Aldi purcahsed Ni?? LED built-in rechargeables, 3 levels....these are great and last about a week. Has a built in magnet on the back and a hook on the top. Cost very little. Picture in another post.
2 12v flouros with 6mtr+ extension cords. I don't use these much anymore but they plug into the back of the car. They are pretty good but not as reliable or versatile as the Aldi lamps.
1 hitachi 18v LiIo torch...low lumens, el cheapo
1 hitachi 18v LiIo lantern, el cheapo but works well.......both of these will last for a long time on the 18v battery packs 50+hrs, maybe 100's??
1 JetBeam RRT 3....useless for camping, but fun for spotting dingos and fishing
1 JetBeam MIII ... handy light.
And the best of all, the multi fire on a stick, the campfire. Can't be beaten.
