I have some just like that, but mine comes in a standard 5mm epoxy package. I ordered mine through ETG. There are 4 versions of this light floating around.
(1.) Psycho Lights CANADA: These Photon 2 look alikes come from Canada and used to show up on Ebay with there Tri-LED light. The flashing red.blue, green LED was meant to replace the Photon Rav'n without having to incorperate surface mount IC chips and circuts. The RGB that Psycho Lights sells runs at 4.5 volts like most other blue white and blue/green LEDs.
(2.) The one listed in this thread runs at lower voltages than the one listed by Psycho lights. These are most likely made in China and were the first of these versions to show up on the LED marketplace. It can let out all it's magic smoke if exposed near the voltage needed to run Psycho Lights RGB LED.
(3.) ETG sells a 5mm version of this LED but with a new version of the flashing seq. Supply voltage to this LED as you would with any Blue or white LED.
(4.) Photon Xlight Rainbow: Photon threat legal action against Psycho Lights because they had listed some products on Ebay. To this day they do not sell to the US. But Photon did this at the time to keep people from buying this LED instead of the Photon Rav'n. Only months later they incorperated this LED into there own product line.
All of these RGB flashing LEDs have different flashing/fading steps.
I use them in high power interface boxs as power indicators. They really are nice LEDs. All made different but all give the desired effect.
