Flashlight, at National Geographic

Surefire 6P body takes 103 seconds to make

Very interesting documenatary on the natgeotv channel about flashlights and batteries. They showed how they make a SF 6P body from a solid aluminium rod. Looked like the rods were about 20 feet or more long. Then they use a German milling machine to do all the operations to finish a 6P body. Very, very interesting documentary.

Man Made: The Flashlight

http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/man-made/3070/Videos#tab-Overview

The human eye is a powerful tool, but its completely dependent on light. It was
the invention of the humble flashlight that enabled humans a safe and portable
means of shedding light on the dark corners of the world. The Flashlight takes
us on a journey from the time when fire was the only means of illuminating the
night, to the high-tech manufacturing of the most powerful flashlights today.

Isn't this the History of The Flashlight? Some CPFers are featured in it.

its a 45 minute show, featuring more about surefire than mag et al.
I have a copy of it, 525mb, .wmv
I guess I could host it on rapidshare...in 200 mb parts :ohgeez:

Could you compress it a little with windows movie maker? I do that with my youtube vids... film them, edit them down to 10 minutes and then compress them down to ~45M for uploading on youtube.

I can't seem to get it to work on google video nor rapidshare:green:

I keep getting this "connection reset" message in the middle of the upload. tried it all night and it still hangs:shakehead
