Hello, forum users.
This is my first post/thread on this forum, I'm a flashlight noob, so if you experienced users could answer my questions, I would be really thankful.

I need a flashlight for lightpainting (and other stuff), so it must meet few specific requirements:

-neutral color (around 6000 K temp would be ideal)
-momentary on (tap press on)
-variable power (at least two stages)
-good build quality/durability
-price no more then 50 $
-preferably 2xAA (so I could use AA chargers and batteries from my flashes)
-nice beam quality (smooth transition from hotspot to flood, so that hotspot isn't too bright)

My favorite so far is Jetbeam BA20. I like Nitecore MT2A, but I think that those modes could bother me while I lightpaint.
While I'm willing to pay more for better build quality than those budget models, I don't want to pay for modes that could make use more difficult (change modes while I just want to tap the switch for momentary).

Since I'm new to this, is there any other flashlight that could fill my needs better (maintain simplicity while being better built)?

Other uses are: around the house, walking the dog in pitch black fields (while he chases hedgehogs).

Thank you very much.

Sorry for bumping the thread with no responses.

Can someone tell me if there's any difference between Jetbeam BA20 and Klarus P2A in terms of build quality?
I can see on the pics that P2A appears to have more threads (and it looks like square cut threads) than BA20 (triangular).
Can someone confirm this from actual handling/comparing of the two?
Is the tailcap switch more durable on either of these?

(and how those two compare to the Nitecore MT2A?)

Thank you
