Tegan's Dad
Newly Enlightened
So my wife, daughter, and I met some friends out for dinner on Tuesday. It was dark as we were leaving the restaurant, and one of our friends mentioned that she is nervous now that she works downtown and it's getting dark earlier. Before long, it will be dark while she's waiting for the bus.
I motioned her to my car where I pulled out the Sipik SK-68, and showed her how bright it was, the zooming feature, the small crenelations, and how it runs off of 1xAA battery. She is by no means a flashaholic. She did enjoy zooming it for max throw, and shining it across the parking lot to the store on the other side (even in the lit parking lot, you could see the boxy LED square on the store sign).
After a minute of playing with it she said, "What do you call something like this?"
I smiled and said, "A Flashlight."
We all laughed, but she asked me to tell her where I got it so she could get some for her kids and herself. It's always fun to induct a non-flashaholic in to our world, even when doing so with a budget light!
