Write to www.j2ledflashlight.com and ask if they can get the special ops model you're looking for... they might be able to get them. I've had very good service with them.
Their regular prices are still higher than if you buy in US$, but it's worth the try.

If all else fails, do you really need the boxes?

LOL, I was not actually expecting to hear from any border agents. I was asking if anyone crossing the border had received any comments FROM border agents about crenelated edges. I plan on traveling to Canada (from US, by car) in the near future and I will be bringing a bunch of flashlights (as gifts) with me, so it's a valid concern.

you have nothing to worry about. However if you are still concerned, the crenelations of the olight are removeable. remove them and put them somewhere else.
