Hello all, I recently purchased some UCL's from Flashlightlens. I was wondering if anyone that has purchased the UCL has noticed it has a green reflection? What I mean is that when I am staring at this beautiful light I have modded (unlit of course), I noticed that when I view a reflection of a light source in the lense, it looks green.

(I must admit though to staring at the light when it was sucking amps, just gotta love that blue corona. I hate the slight headache though! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif It's kinda like a hangover. I'll have to give up drinking, bright flashlights are just too cool.)

I forgot to say that I really like this lens. I am by no means put off by the green reflection. It was just something I noticed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Also, maybe I'm just giddy over hotrodding a flashlight, but I really think I can see the difference between my stock mag lens and the UCL.

Also, does anyone know if the AR coating is on both sides? If only on one side, does that mean you have to have the coating towards the inside or outside?

I still have yet to receive mine...so i'll post back when i get it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

AR/AG coating. Enjoy it, because it's part of what makes the UCL perform so much better than uncoated glass. Instead of the light from the emitter reflecting off the back of the uncoated glass (into the flashlight's reflector for another time), it goes straight through and comes out the front where you can really make use of it. It's what makes that UCL achieve the performance it does.

For that same reason, don't SCRUB your UCL. Treat it like eyeglasses, microfiber cloths are best for cleaning it.

its coated on both sides

How durable is this coating? How should one clean grease and muck off the lens without damaging the AR coat?

I cracked mine 4 days after I had it. I got the double coated polycarbonate instead later. UCL is Delicate.

I would say it's fairly durable. I clean both my UCL and UCL-LDF with Wal-Mart lens cleaner. Hey, it works! It even came with a reusable microfiber cloth.

I have experienced no problems at all.

I bought one of the lens pens at the same time I bought the UCL. I used it on some mag reflectors that got fingerprints on them and it worked very nicely. It left no scratches (or fingerprints) on the reflector. My lense has not gotten dirty enough to use the pen on it yet, but soon as it does i'll let you know.
