I was inspired by some of the ideas so I made up my own Loc line mount...
I used about a foot of 1/2" Loc line, a couple surface mounts and a double socket to reverse the socket direction
so I could used a surface mount on Both ends...
Then I drilled a hole in the tail cap of my SC60w's . Used a #10 screw with the head sanded down just enough
to fit when the cap is locked down. there is just barely enough slot left in the head to tighten after sanding....

The clamp works well and the magnet is pretty good....a 6" clamp with an even more powerful magnet would be better..

All in all, it turned out the way I wanted and will be pretty useful at work....

That looks like a good setup. If you want a really powerful magnet you can buy the loc-line base and detach the clamp. The loc-line magnet is big and quite powerful. (It's not cheap either, and I found it impossible to assemble and disassemble loc-line without the special loc line pliers.)

I ended up using loc-line terminated with screw-on loc-line segments. At one end I screwed it to the wall. At the other end I screwed on a rubber lined circular clamp that goes around the body of the light, which I think I found in the electrical department.

I later tried to do the same thing for a different context using a Streamlight Knucklehead. I attached a metal plumping part via a screw-threaded loc-line segment and connected the Streamlight using it's integral magnet. But it turns out the light is too heavy and the loc-line can't support it.

I am considering removing the stock 'donut' magnet and epoxying a rare earth donut in its place....Thing is, the rare earths give a 'pound rating' for pull, which is fine but I dont know what my generic magnet gives...if its 10 times the grab I'm not sure I want that...Ive found them for $8 so thats not a big deal..
In certain orientations or outstretched positions you have to play with it...until the magnet 'is happy' so to speak. Straight sideways will always want to rotate the magnet down.....

Its a fun way to use a light, and yea a head lamp works well, but these are fun!
