I'm looking for something very similar to my Coast PX45 but brighter and not 3xaaa! I really want flood to throw (even maybe JUST flood?) but I want a big circle of light to see ALL around me on the ground when taking my dog out at night.
1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?

I've considered a "mule" but I almost feel that it will cast TOO wide of a beam (~180°?) whereas my PX45 is more like 90° I think and it's sufficient. My main gripes with the PX45 are
1)Max brightness isn't enough
2)Not regulated
3)3xaaa, aaa's aren't a problem but 3 is a pain as all of my chargers only charge PAIRS
4)Plastic lens
