Did they ever put a flourescent tube in a cone reflector?
Not side mounted like the energizer arc white. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As far as I know, fluorescents are only good for area lighting. I have never heard of anyone focusing a fluorescent into a flashlight worthy beam.

I suppose you could technically call any white LED a flourescent light since they work by using a blue color LED with a layer of flouresing material. A conventional flourescent light is hard to use with a focusing reflector because of the large size of the light source, even if you use a folded style compact flourescent light. Small sized incandencents and LEDs have very small points of emission and can be focused into a beam much better with a reflector.
