Folders that lock closed

So I'm still trying to figure out if I can find something better than my SAK for keychain EDC, and thought maybe a good (small) folder might work (I've already ruled out a multitool, and I think I can do without the screwdrivers, although losing a prying element like the flat end of the SAK bottle opener sort of gives me pause).

Anyway, for a variety of reasons, I'd like to find a small folder that not only locks open, but also locks shut. I believe the Benchmite does this, but it's a bit spendy for me to purchase as a "test" item. Does anyone know of a less expensive, but similarly featured knife? If not, I may be "forced" to go with the Benchmite, although it seems somewhat hard to find these days (I don't think any of our CPF sponsors carries it).

It's on the big side, but the Boker Top-Lock locks closed. It's based on a swtichblade, so that's why.

The Kershaw (Ken Onion) 'Chive' and 'Scallion' models has a speed safe opening and while closed it has a slide that can be used to keep the blade locked

That Boker looks nice, but it is a bit larger than what I was looking for. I may have to see if I can find one in person, though.

I wasn't aware that the speed safe knives had a supplemental lock. I'll have to look into the Chive again, although I'm not a big fan of the speed safe concept (I'm probably weird in that sense /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

Those CRKT's look nice. I'm happy with my Gerber Multi-tool, but those make me think a nice knife would be a nice addition. Any suggestions on where to go for best service/price? Do you ID them by the #'s in the pic?
4102/4112 + 4003/4013? Is the 4102/4112 double edged at the tip? Or is that the blade style?

I've actually looked at those Tektite small blades before, but I'm wary of the cover popping off the first, and the blade deploying accidentally for the second. When you're as much of a klutz as I am, something with a little more of a positive lock would seem more appropriate.

The Bladelocks _do_ look nice. I like the strong lock for both the opened and closed positions - seems like it would be less prone to accidental disengagement (from the closed position) than the SOG Flash. But apparently there is no lanyard hole, whereas it looks like something could be rigged through the bend of the SOG Flash clip. Hmm, decisions, decisions ...

I think I may pass on the Chive, though, since based on Kogatana's experience, it presents the possibility of just the situation I am trying to avoid (accidental opening). See here. If a skilled user might face this problem, then it doesn't bode well for a decidedly unskilled user like me!

Get the Benchmade Benchmite or the Benchmade 3100-Auto. You can't go wrong with either and they both lock when closed.

I EDC'd the CRKT knife for 2 years until I gave it to my Brother in Law as he headed for Iraq.

Awesome knife for the money, takes kids a few minutes to figure out how to open it, giving you time to react and do something before they cut themselves.
