Just came in the mail. Small and very bright. I will try it out later in the dark.

Nice pics, I also had one of these in the mail when I got home yesterday. You didn't say much about your initial thoughts?

I was pretty impressed with the light.

Pros:
The packaging was nice and it was a plus to have the cr123 battery included.
The light was smaller and weighed less than I thought it would.
It was no problem at all to carry in my front dress pants pocket today.
I like the UI with light starting on low and after a couple times cycling through all the modes its very easy and intuative to change modes.
I think the barrel movement is much smoother than the fenix LD01and easy to change modes one handed.
The amount of light, multi modes and run times on these little lights still amaze me.

Cons:
If any would be I'm still on the fence about attaching it to a key chain. Ill give that a shot over the next few days.

OK, so I tried the light out tonight. It is really nice. I carried it in my little watch pocket in my jeans today. Ordered another for a friend tonight.

I think you'll grow to love that little light. I know I love mine. Im amazed at how much performance comes from such a small light :)

I've been eyeing this light too, thinking of getting one to attach to my keys. How's the beam on these?

Wore it last night around my neck while walking my dog on HIGH for approx 20 mins. The light did get warm, but no big deal.

Got my second Mini-ML just now in the mail. I am going to keep on in my bag and one in my pocket.

Does anyone put he lanyard on it and use it, if so how?

Does anyone put the lanyard on it and hang it from their car rear view mirror?

Ditto. My older Mini123 HCRI has served me well for about 3 years now. Love this little light. It's not my brightest, but I have it on me always and it also typically outperforms other people's flashlights which takes them by surprise.

Remember, being a Gen-2, multiple all lumen numbers on the package by 1.2 to get the real number. the numbers on the package are still the old Gen-1 numbers. .

a classic. down down to two. i gave away my titanium. gritty threads & heavy. prefer the aluminum. i always have one in my flight bag. great price, good run times & I like the beam. I use a split ring with a length of yellow paracord & Tec P7 suspension clip.

The Mini MLR2 is a great light. I own two of them as well as the earlier version CR2 Mini. But why is it that a company like FourSevens can't be bothered to update the specs on their packaging or their web site, literally for a couple of years now? It's been that way since long before the transition to the new web site and logo branding. In fact, the current packaging reflects the new branding and logo changes and the change in the name of the light from "CR2 Mini" to "Mini ML" but still shows the older specs. One might think it would be in FourSeven's own best interests to promote the higher lumen output to potential customers who don't follow these specs as carefully as some of us do.

I don't think it's worth them updating the specs - the 20% is the theoretical and at the emitter. If I recall correctly, Selfbuilt found the the XP-G2 bump on the larger Quarks to be ~7%. Anyways, their corporate philosophy (marketing claims, warranty, customer service, for example) feels roughly the opposite of a Zebralight, for example.

I can appreciate your point about FourSeven's corporate philosophy and not wanting to overstate the specs. Still, being the owner of both the earlier generation CR2 Mini and the more recent MLR2 I can say that the newer XP-G Gen-2 has a subtle but noticeably brighter output (and a little more throw, apparently in part due to a slightly different texture on the reflector than the older light) when compared side by side, so why not say so on the packaging?

A question for anyone thats carried this light on a keychain or lanyard for a while - have you had any issues with the durability of the tiny split ring attachment point?

The split ring attachment point so small it can't even accommodate both layers of the split ring so seems like it might be prone to wearing through or even breaking off. Maybe it's tougher than it looks but I've read several accounts of people loosing these off their keyring and am wondering if this might be the reason.

Any comments from long term keyring carriers?

I own both the ML and MLR2 versions of this light and have never had any issues with the split ring itself or the attachment point. I've been carrying the CR2 mini and now the MLR2 on my keyring for a almost two years. The lights are warrantied for ten years for good reason.

Thanks very much for your reply. If wear or breakage was going to be a significant issue it would likely be a problem by now. This is my first foursevens product so figured I'd ask.

So far, great fit and finish, very small and light (more than I expected), grippy, very smooth one handed action, nice beam pattern and tint, good battery life, and nicely spaced brightness levels. It's not much bigger than a spare battery carrier and doubles as a great backup light for anyone carrying another 123 based EDC light (which I often do).
