I have a slightly OTT need to be seen and see and to this end I have gone mad in this department.. so I will share my ride with you..though a few things especially the tires have changed since this photo.

My main light for daytime/evening/and off road is the Lupine Wilma 8.

A fairly good intro for me into the lighting world of LED's not cheap, but the battery life is good for 200+hrs in flash mode and at least 5hrs (modified battery setup) in full high power mode.

I also have as a spot light/main beam for off road stuff - The Eclipse MR16. This is a 30w HID light. On my modified battery pack I get 4+ hours of full power burn time (standard one is about 2.5Hrs). This is 100% off road only as the output is 1850 Lumens and is bright.

The three lights, as are a bit extreme but are right for my personal off road and crazy night time needs.

Plenty of light there, what, probably 2k lumens at least?

Also, you like your comort don't you? Full suspension & a thudbuster?

Is that a Giant Maestro suspension converted to SS?
How is the chain tensioner working. Did you notice loss of anti-squat? Dave Weagle suggests triple front actually helps increase anti-squat characteristics of FS designs. I won't go into since I can't explain it as well as the King himself. Was thinking of doing something similar to one of my bikes.

With the whole system on it works out to be around 3000 lumens and I have the option of taking this upto 5K in the future for a small loss of about 60mins of burn time.

The seat suspension seat post - I get back pain and this is due to SPONDYLOLISTHESIS, in my case it is when one vertebra in the spine slips over another and for me this can happen when running or riding, so my need to reduce any shock transmitted through hard play is important... the seat post does help me on long distance stuff. For me long distance is any ride over 60mins.. In the past I have been known to come home in so much pain after just an hour's riding that you would not believe what caused it..

As seat posts go, most of those with suspension are not that great but this one uses gas not just strong springs or elastomers to suspend the rider. This seat post's highly responsive gas/coil spring absorbs 100% of the impact up to 2-3" and significantly dampens larger bumps and for me this is a blessing in disguise and has allowed me to ride for over four hours with no hint of a problem..

I am not too sure about your suspension question.. The rear setup is referred to as Virtual Piviot Suspension and is lightly modelled on the four bar link system.. and the front is a Pace RC36 set of forks its works beautifully for me as I wanted to make a bike that could handle 100% road use with at least 50%-60% light Freeride use and also at least 75% Downhill racing and or Cross Country.

In that respect it delivers and I am still learning how to handle more technical and crazy stuff.

The rear mech is there as a cable free tensioner on a temp basis as I am saving up for a Rohloff Speedhub, so for the time its just a single speed setup.

From a riding point of view, the seat post allows me comfort but to also have a firm and quite solid downhill racing suspension setup that is smooth on the road but without ANY changes I can take it off road in the middle of the night and throw it down some mad forest hills on pot holed paths made up of rubble and loose shingle - and have no fear of touching 40mph..

Hill climbing on a single speed is hard work but at 17.5Kg this bike is at least 7kg lighter than my last bike and if weight becomes an issue, the lights and stuff plus a few non essential asscessiories changes could lighten the load by another 4.5kg.
