Welcome to CPF, RitcheyRch!

These lights are made to work off a CR2 battery (the shortest one), or a single li-ion AA battery and a "sammie" (an electronic converter that powers a Luxeon LED). Sammies are offered by The Sandwich Shoppe (they have a section here on CPF you can browse).

If you're just getting started with lights, I recommend you try the Terralux TLE-5 Ministar drop-in. Check the CPF Specials link on my signature and go to led-replacement.com from there.

The Terralux TLE-5 (MiniStar2) is a drop in LED replacement for the MiniMag. I recently got one and it takes less than a minute to install. It makes the light much, much brighter.

The TLE-5 is available here. Use regular 2xAA batteries for full size minimag.
For1AA minimag you will have to use a lithium cell.
You can also use a madmax sandwich available in the sandwich shop and it can run off just 1AA battery.
