g2 or p6?

I'm getting a light for car glovebox/pocket, and have decided on either the surefire G2 or P6.

How easy is it for the G2 to accidently turn on? I'm leaning towards this light due to it's cheaper price, but I'm not sure about the non-lockout tailcap. I guess you can always turn one of the batteries around, but that's not ideal.

Anyone know the cheapest UK source for surefire and parts?

Yea, you know the non-lock out tailcap on the G2 is a real pain for me. I've never had it turn on accidently, but I was always real careful as to where I put it. I've tried unscrewing the bezel and it does work, but it's still a pain. So, I just went ahead and modded it to a clickie switch. If you really like the G2 then buy it and then mod it, but if that's not the case I don't see why you shouldn't just buy the PM6. I have no clue on where the cheapest stores are in the UK for surefires and parts, sorry.

What type of clickie works on the G2 and where do I get one? I like the Kroll type action - Partial push for momentary & push further for permanent on.

The clickie switch comes from a Garrity flashlight branded as Ozark Trail. It's a 2AA flashlight with a clickie switch at its tail end. It's available at Walmart. Here's the link to the mod and other details about the flashlight you need to buy. G2 clickie

Forgot to mention. The G2 clickie switch from the Ozark Trail light only clicks on or off. You can't partial push for momentary and push further for permanent on.

If you want to save cost buying the clickie you could always turn the head of the G2 out slightly to lock out your light.

Like the kroll huh? you could actually use one. Wrap aluminum foil aroud the thread portion (foil needs to make good contact with the side spring) until it fits snug in the tailcap. Not pretty or high tech but it does work effectively. Don't use the kroll rubber boot and just use the stock rubber boot.

The Sandwich Shoppe has the Kroll "Classic" Switch Module for $14.90 This is a drop in Kroll mod that I use in my G2s. You just take the tailcap off and push on the rubber button and then replace it with this switch.
