I just ordered a G2 for my dads birthday! Trying hard to convert him to the light!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I was just wondering...will the Lexan lens cope with the heat of the P60, providing that the lens is kept uncovered? I ask because I wonder if the Nitrolon takes enough heat away? Any experience with this? No need to worry about the P61...NEVER going to happen!!! I'd have to do alot of converting to get him to hand over $20 for a lamp!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Hmm the Lexan lens WILL be able to take the heat. It might soften a very little bit such that it might be possible to press it in a very little bit. But of cos your fingers will be burned first

I've had a G2 since the very first one came out.
I have run it with both the P60 & 61 lamps. Sometimes for extended times. I use either a beamshaper or red lens with the P60 and now have a traffic cone on order.
I have not any real problems with the lexan.

I am going to "retire" the G2 to the glove box of my car as soon as my G2Z arrives.

The G2 after prolonged use doesn't heat up the lexan lens enough to instantly burn your fingers if you press it up against it, so I guess the lens itself should survive. True about the poor conductivity of the Nitrolon body though, it doesn't seem to get hot at all.
