G2Z + KL5 =

I just bought a G2Z and a KL5 I have been unable to mate these together although the SF website says they will. I finally stopped trying after messing the threads up a bit and dont want to make it worse. Has anyone else used this combination?

I have no idea why yours won't screw on...

Does the G2Z bezel still screw on okay?

Yes, the G2Z bezel threads on fine. I tried a regular G2 with the KL5 and it worked fine as well. There must be some imperfection in the molding on the G2Z as I almost have to force it into the KL5 just to get to where the threads begin. Surefire responded quickly to my query with them and say they will replace it. I think I will just swap it at the dealer though since I just bought it yesterday.

Tom, do you have the ability to take photos of the G2Z threads with your G2 threads next to it? You are welcome to email me the photos and I'll post them if you like.
I've never heard of poor quality SureFire threads ever before.

If you have the new version of the KL5 that looks like the latest version KL3, then you're experiencing the exact same thing I did. I thought there was something wrong with the threading in my KL5, but it connected to an E2C adapter I had just fine. I think the newest KL5 threading is of a tighter tolerance and won't fit on a G2Z. :(
