G3 nitrolon led drop-in?

I wonder if there is a led drop-in for the G3? I want to convert mine into the brigthest led possible. Any suggestions? Some drop-in from DX maybe? I like their price and the free shipping! Any other company would do anyway. Iam only a begginer so no heavy mods for me please.

If you can afford it, it's the best way to go.

there are lots of options, just make sure you get one that matches the voltage you are running, if i'm not mistaken the G3 runs at 9V on primaries and would be 11.1V on rechargeables...If you get an incompatible drop it will either refuse to ignite, or:poof: I recommend a few cheapies from DX before figuring out whether you want color/white or flood/throw, that way you don't end up with an expensive drop-in that you aren't going to use.

Beware of the M60 in a G3 if you want/need to use it for more then a few minutes at a time (see below, from Malkoff).

Note: This drop-in module was intended to operate at maximum brightness for tactical usage similar to the original setup. Operating the unit for more than 15 continuous minutes in plastic lights may cause damage to the drop-in module. This is not an issue in metal lights.

Might I suggest the M60L, if you want/need use for more then a few minutes at a time, in a G3.

Search P60 dropin. That's an industry standard for describing modules that fit in the Z, C, G series and 6P/6PL. Those types of lights.

Sure the light originally was meant to use 3xCR123=9v however that does not mean the only configuration is either 3xCR123 or 3xRCR123

Actually the RCR123 your thinking of is 3.7v or rather 4.2v hot off charger so 3x4.2v=12.6v and there are 3.0v RCR123 that are about say 3.65-3.7v off charger so it = 11v about.


Anyways if you need a rechargeable option to meet close to 9V in 3xCR123 lights then 2x17500=8.4v are a popular option, especially if your using the 9v bulb. In a pinch 2x14500 may be a option also though loose.


As said this is a plastic light so heat is something to seriously consider. You may be able to use the metal head in place of the nitrolon head.

What if I told you there is an incandescent option for the G3 that will absolutely crush any LED on the market, and you wouldn't have to worry about heat (incans like it hot).
