I typically use the Garminfone in the car in the windshield mount connected to vehicle power. I want to have the spare battery charged ready to go when I need it, but I seem to recall that lithium ion batteries retain their charge reasonable well. Anyway, I am trying to determine how often I should swap batteries to have the second one ready to go as needed. Would charging it once a month be often enough? I suppose I could go the other extreme and swap batteries daily, but is that really necessary? Also, if I just charge the spare battery occasionally, am I better off charging the spare in the home vs. in the vehicle, or does that also not matter that much?
