Did you do the Kydex work by yourself? From what I see the GB sheath could be the one from TAD. The L4 sheath is homemade I believe.

Yep, L4 Kydex is my own make. It is way better then any other Kydex product I have ever seen. It may not be pretty, but it works great. Also it holds too spare SF123As.

That TAD Gear GB Kydex is a joke. Kydex is attached to the tek-lok by the means of ONE non-locking screw!!! It twists,turns,etc on it's own will. I will be making a replacement for it this weekend.

edit: I am surprised the TAD sheath is that bad as they usually stand behind their products. Did you buy that knive used? Maybe the earlier owner modified it?

Noup. Everything is brand-spanking-new. Notice ambi-studs and black clip, GB non-standard.

You must handle the SnG. It will change your mind. It is the best folder made,IMHO.

Nice stuff, FC! The New York Custom Knife Show is this month and the Chesapeake is next month. I'll have to visit the Strider table and see if I can't pick me up a GB.

Your L4 rig is nice, is that a Knife Kits belt loop that it's attached to? For the GB rig, have you tried inside/outside toothed washers? I use them for any single screw attachments that I build into my custom rigs and they really tighten things up and prevent swiveling, providing that any spacers are solid and not rubber.

The NYCKS show is Nov. 7,8,9th at the Hotel Pennsylvania on 7th Ave and 33rd St. in Manhattan, and the Chesapeake Knife Show is at the Timonium Holiday Inn in Maryland, around the same time in Dec. I'll have to check the schedule in one of the knife magazines. The Strider guys usually have a table at the NYCKS show and sometimes at the Chesapeake show, when they were starting out Duane and Mick used to come to Chesapeake every year.

There is always the Blade show in Atlanta too, I HAVE to make it there in 2004 as I have not been able to go the last two years and I have a major jones to get there again!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

No, you don't need tickets, just pay admission at the door. The date of the show is Dec. 14th, it's a one day show, but usually a good one. It's at the Holiday Inn, 2004 Greenspring Drive, Timonium Md. 21093. For exhibitor Info you can contact Ted Merchant (410) 343-0380 he's a real nice guy and a bladesmith himself.

WHOOHOO!! I picked up a lightly used GB on Saturday at the NYCK Show. I lucked out as Josh had just put it out on the table as I was walking by. Alot like yours FC, it has the ambi-studs and black clip and pivot and was already broken in, smooth, and freshly re-lubed. It has a few minor scratches on blade and clip, but I plan on adding a few more!!

Talked to Duane on Friday and he said he will be at the Chesapeake show but he may be the only one coming and he will be hanging with another maker.

Saw some cool, freshly finished Camo Hideaways on Saturday that a guy was showing to Mick, very NICE!!

The Bad news is, someone stole one of the SMF prototypes off the table on Friday, I heard the announcement over the intercom and my heart sank, what a freakin lowlife!! They are gonna post the serial number info over on USN I believe, but keep your eyes peeled for a XM prefix SMF up for sale anywhere and contact the Strider Guys if you see it!
