Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new headlamp that will cover most of the usual scenarios - losing power at home, camping, changing a tyre at night etc, and I was thinking of a LED Lenser h14r, do you think this would be a good choice?

Shane

I would stay away from LED LENSER. I would look at the Zebralight H51 in neutral white or the olight H15.

What battery format are you looking into?

Just something common, AA or AAA would be best, I have a heap of them:)

I would look at the Spark SD52 or ST5 or the SX5 (if you do not mind having a battery pack in the back) or the Zebra Light H51. SX5 is very versatile and you can switch to different power sources. If I had to pick one all around AA it would be the SD52.

Sorry guys, I've ignored your advice:) I went to the local gun shop. they had a h14 that was display stock for $60 so I grabbed it.

Ah well, I'm sure it won't be the last one I buy:)

Good looking light, but how heavy does it feel? Does it get too hot? I have been looking for something similar.

Thanks.

It's well balanced, doesn't get too hot (although it's winter here) and weighs just over 200 grams with batteries.

It throws a bloody good light, I'll be using for spotlighting feral cats.
