Is anyone here experienced in creating gerber files for making printed circuit boards? I need a small board designed for a Zetex based 1,000mA driver for a Luxeon III so that I can get a few made.

If anyone can lend me a hand (or could give me a quote), please PM me.
 
have you tried the photocopy/laser and iron method? basically, you print a mirrored circuit in a laser printer or just photocopy a inkjet print, and then ironing on top of the coppper, I tried it and it works, moistening the paper helps. There is plenty of info about this method online google for it.

Nope, never tried it. I'll look into that, but I'd still need the board layout designed.

That technique doesn't solder SMD devices onto the board...

I have access to a schematic/board design package, but that's at work, so I doubt I could help you with gerbers.

You might also want to look into http://www.expresspcb.com/

and Eagle PCB. You can get a demo package from many layout software companies that will do 10-50 components for free. Eagle has been used here by many CPF'ers and I've heard some CPF'ers use expresspcb and were quite happy with them.

I've personally not used expresspcb myself.
