Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could tell me what size the glass window is on the Alpha Ready Made? I would like to purchase one as soon as I find out. Also, When I install the new window into my light, how does it disassemble? Right from the front?, or would I have to unscrew or pull off the back of the head assembly to get to it? Any help would be appreciated. Lastly, Thank you Jason for producing such an awesome light. I can't wait to really exercise it this coming summer.

Not sure why size it is, but you remove it by taking out the o-ring, and tapping the head of the light in your hand until the lens comes out. If you do that you should be able to get an accurate measurement of the size, and also the thickness. Depending on where you plan on purchasing the lens, different types have different thicknesses.

In all honesty I would send Jason an email and ask him if you can purchase a few more lenses. Both mine are pretty beat up too, I may send him a request myself.

Thank you for the reply and helpful information. So I did some further research, and looked at the Ledil Reflector dimensions and it measures 22.2 mm wide. Since that fits perfectly in the head, I then looked at the UCL Glass Lens offernigs on their website and the closest dimesnions to match the 22.2 mm reflector size are 22.0 mm and 22.61 mm. I am assuming that it is safe to say the 22.61 mm size will be to large. This leaves the 22 mm size. They are cheap enough that I will probably order it and see how it goes.

The window is a 22mm UCL :)

If you have a newer RM with the Primary Seal Ring installed, you'll want to watch this video before you try to disassemble anything.

Thanks for the video Jason! I had to have it muted while I watched it but ill look at it again with audio. Maybe it will answer some of my questions instead of bothering you with them.

any ways to prevent a serious beat up?.
:-/

Mine gets beat up because I'm in the military and i fly almost every day. My job requires me to lay on my stomach in the back of an airplane, so its gets dinged up quite a bit.

Having trouble uploading pictures from my camera to Flickr, so here is one from my phone.
