Devcon 2-ton clear 30-minute set epoxy
Extreme G12 green glow powder from Readysetglo

Mixed epoxy with about the same amount of glow powder. Mixture was "thick" but still a bit runny. Applied to light engine and let cure for ~12 hours.

Result was very "green" looking in daylight - more than I have seen posted here. Glow intensity was not great IMHO, but then again, this is my first attempt so not sure what to expect. It also look very grainy to my eyes when glowing, even though the particle size is 45 - 65 uM.

Any thoughts or comments would be welcome. As you can see, the powder by itself is quite green in daylight. Is this what others have seen?

That is very green looking pigment.
I myself use glowinc.com brand v10, which has a slight green color in daylight
Yours looks like they added a fluorescent pigment for dayglo
What light did you put GITD into?

I thought about getting Glow Inc powder but went with readysetglo based on other CPF members' recommendations.

The light is a modded Inova Bolt 2AA described here.

I swapped the 20mm IMS reflector with an LXP RS optic.

Ok, bought some glow powder from Glow Inc. I got ultra Green V10 and ultra green in the 35 - 65 micron particle size.

Here are all three powders side by side.

From left to right

"Day green powder" (Readysetglo)
Ultra green v10 (Glow Inc.)
Ultra green 35 - 65 um (Glow Inc.)

I replaced the readysetglo powder with glow inc v10 and got much better results.

I think the lesson learned is to buy the right powder. Looking back now, I think I ordered the wrong powder from readysetglo. Not sure what that stuff could be used for since it really has a very weak signal.

not bad for a lume job

glow inc is good at that

if you want to go more advanced , see signature :)

Nice call going with the glo-inc powder... Devcon is also the right stuff.

I don't really have mix ratio to share other than I pour the amount of epoxy I think I need first, then mix in the glo-powder until i get a "doughy" consistency. Thick so that it "ooozes" and is not at all "runny." After that, it's pour and wait...

Your mod looks great!

Thanks for this Thread.
I want to make it in the next time with Glowpowder with the Aleph Mule.

Exactly!! Glowinc's stuff really is top notch.

Back to the mixture proportions, if the results look "grainy" that means you could've still added some more powder. That's one reason to use the 12hr-curing epoxy; it smooths out over time and the results are better (smoother looking).

long curing definitely lets it settle down nicely, looks good if you can let it sit somewhere flat.

but on something curved like this, it was hard enough getting average results without letting it drip. 30 minute epoxy seemed to work well, with a hot air gun to re-smooth everything after every time I re-smoothed it as it ran to the sides.

All done with glow inc powders + permatex 30 minute epoxy.
