can I use a 5mW?

I dont want to have the liability, nor cost or battery usage of an over 5mW if I can use the 5mW succesfully.

I need it be able to point to stars, and I will mount it to my goto scope and then point my big light bucket where the green beam is.

will the 5mW work?
I'm in south La. so it's pretty humid in the summer and some what humid in the winter.

Keep in mind that what is sold as 5mW is really specified by the manufacturer <5mW, meaning anything between 1 and 5mW. I have many satisfied astronomy customers in the southeast using my "True" 5mW pointers so that power level should be fine in LA.
