Good 2 AA thrower under $50?

I've been in the market for a nice thrower using AA batteries. Ideally, it's a 2 AA format like the Quark AA^2 or the P100A2. The P100A2 is a much better thrower than the Quark AA2, but still can't out-throw the LED Lenser T7 I have, which makes sense given the T7 is focusable to allow for better throw. But are there any 2AA flashlights that can throw better than a P100A2? The P100A2 and the Quark AA^2 both have that beam pattern where there is a hot spot, and a nice spill around it. I guess I'm looking for a flashlight that has ONLY the hot spot, and no spill around? Any recommendations?

thought about the dereelight javelin? i don't think you can get much more than 300 lumens on 2xAA. 1x18650 would open your world to 10x better throw.

Sorry for the late response. Thank you for that suggestion! Do you know how it compares in throw to the Jetbeam PA20 or the Klarus XT2A?

nope sorry. best you could do is lookup the manufacturer lumens. they might also specify throw, which is usually the distance at which the intensity of the beam goes down to 0.25lux. check if selfbuilt did reviews on this site or goinggear.com might also have good video reviews.

also the LENSER is unique because you can focus it. no other quality flashlights can be focussed like LENSER.

best to buy some 18650s. a charger is approx $25 and a protected cell is around $15 and it will last longer than 2xaa

The Led Lenser L6 (ANSI 105 lumen/200 meter), Mini-maglite Pro+ (ANSI 245 lumen/150 meter), and the ITP SA2 (ANSI 230 lumen/150 meter) all run on 2AA's and are well under $50.

Yeah, the LENSER is unique in that aspect, but I was hoping to find a non-focusable flashlight that throws really well. I want to stick with AA batteries because they're so common, and I have a million of them lying around. Maybe some day down the road, I'll pick up at 18650, but for now, AA and AAA are the batteries for me =D Thanks for the suggestion though!

Ah, you're the second person to suggest the ITP SA2. Is there a reliable seller online that I could use?
