good multimeter with PC interface

Here is a good (I think) multimeter with all the goodies and a PC interface for $46. It has autoranging with manual override, backlit 3999 count display, measures capacitance and transistor hFe, tests diodes. It measures current to 10 amps. Has data hold and a rubber boot. Mine measures temperature (celsius) and comes with a thermocouple. The other model measures frequency instead of temperature.

It comes with a PC Rs232 cable and software.

I can't tell you how good the software is. I haven't used it much and I confuse it in my mind with my Labjack.

I bought one a year ago from elexp.com. A few hours afterwards, I was notified by ebay that I had won a like-new display model lesser endowed multimeter for $18. This cheaper one has none of the goodies like PC interface that the one above has, but it's okay for most uses, so I use it all the time and keep my beauty in it's simulated leather case collecting dust on the shelf. Unless I want to measure capacitance or temperature, of course.

And I haven't been ambitious enough lately to dream up a good reason to plug it into my PC.

Go down to RadioShack and buy a 1"x2" photocell and joinme in doing runtime plots! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Roy you ain't gonna believe this, but I did just that a few months ago. I even scotch taped the photocell to the inside of the cardboard box my printer came in. Now where do I go to get the ambition to do something with it? Actually I got involved in another project in the meantime, well that's my excuse anyway.

And when I get the ambition, I should expend it looking for a job. Shortly after telling my <expletive deleted> boss what I thought of him, I found myself unemployed. I don't understand it, I thought my description was very accurate and quite detailed too.

Know anybody who could use a good programmer who likes to write multi-threaded event driven software that works?

Of course if anyone wants to send me their flashlights, I could test them. Hint: I don't have any surefires or a spaceneedle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
