I just received an e-mail from Fenix, I have been selected to T&E lights for them. This of course carries the responsibility of posting reviews on web sights like this one and others. I have been reading alot on CPF and I hope I can keep up with the high quality reviews that have helped me select a couple of flashlights.

Just for background, I am a Depuy Sheriff in California and have been in Law Enforcement for 13 years. I am a firearms instructor for my agency and for the regional police academy. I also shoot USPSA and IDPA (competition shooting) and have been for about 6 years.

If anyone can help I have no idea how to post photos. I have a decent camera, I just need help with putting photos in my posts.

Matt

P.S. The first light they are sending me is the TA30. I know this will be a first for a lot of us on this site.

Edit: Here is a practice photo of my well used TK11

To paste the pictures in posts AFTER you have uploaded them in sites such as photobucket or imageshack, here's how.

Linking images is easy. Get a photobucket account, create an album in your account called "flashlights" or something, and upload images from your hard drive. Then scroll over the uploaded image you want to link and highlight+copy the text in the box labeled "IMG code", and paste that text into a post on a forum.

Congratulations. I was hoping that review list hadn't come out yet. I applied for the trial run campaign for Layman's Flashlight Reviews and then emailed to further introduce myself. I was told:
Fenix representative said:

[FONT=宋体]Thank you for your attention to us!
we are interested in a cooperation with your forum.

But today rolls around and I didn't get an email. I am guessing that something went screwey with my application submission and I didn't actually get on the register.

Thanks for the help. I will post a lot of pictures so there will be a lot of flashlight porn.

Image Venue
is a great website to upload thumbnails to use in message-boards/forums. It's a free service!

Using Windows? Here's an invisible small program thats available to you seemlessly.

Go to Microsoft Power Toys for Windows and download their program "Imageresizer.exe"(its in the right column halfway down the page). Run it and it will become part of windows.
To resize my pics in "My Pictures", I just right click on the picture and choose the option resize. Then they give you size options, one of them 800X600, then it creates another file along with the original.

Works great for me, I also use Photobucket and you can reduce your download time by resizing before downloading to Photobucket.

Hmm...not everyone gets to post attachments. No wonder my TK40 beamshots didn't work right.
Actually, NO-ONE gets to post attachments. Images must be hosted elsewhere on another server, such as the Photobucket facility, as countless threads and posts on this subject have pointed out.

I guess I'm misinterpreting the FAQ section where it says "Attachments and Images." My first post with images was actually using Photobucket and HTML links to the site so I must have munched the code.

Hmm.

Since you are a veteran LEO, I'm sure you know the rigors and abuse a flashlight goes through on the job. I hope you consider that in your testing and include your evaluation of real world reliability and ruggedness of all the lights in your reviews.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Yes, I plan on testing the lights while on duty. I will use them as I do any duty light (which currently is a TK11). I will mount any lights that are appropriate to my AR-15 based duty rifle for live fire testing. I will also loan them out to other Deputies (some of whom are SWAT) for more testing and opinions. My goal is not only to review the light, but put it through some field testing to make sure it holds up. I will not recommend any light that I don't believe in, especially to the people I work with.

So far the only light Fenix has for me is the TA30. I don't think they will send any older lights.

If its not a top secret may I ask how you obtained this position from Fenix?
