Good regulated power?

Took another look at Roy's runtime graphs on Quickbeam's site: Opalec, Eternalight, Bad Boy, Palight show straight across the board 'till battery depletion ... Best type of regulation?

A matter of taste, of course, but yes I think constant current is the best idea.

FWIW, the Eternalight is *not* regulated (it's using Li cells), note the slope?

Thanks, I sit corrected.....maybe.

While I'm not sure what "VERY regulated" is (probably didn't exist when I went to school, we studied other types), my Derringers definitely are not as reported here:

If it is regulated, how do you explain the slow drop in output as the battery ages? I would expect constant current or rising current depending on the regulator used with the total light output constant until it drops out of regulation. Right?

The EliteMax is the only model in the Eternalight line that is regulated.

"The EliteMax not only has power regulation, but can select regulation levels and can turn on and off regulation at will to get you the absolute best performance from whatever your battery situation is."

I believe this is what he is referring to as "VERY regulated" and/or the fact that it is current regulated (true regulation).

Indeed it seems that model is. Not, however, either the one shown in the graphs cited or the one I have.
