good unit for modding

What is a good off the shelf light to get that I could mod to be much brighter? So I guess I am looking for a good starting point. something that would be a double cr123 size light. I hope to reach 200-300 lumens after modding....

bored surefire 6p or a solarforce l2p those are the two i started with and i still use them almost every day

a cheap host would be the wf501, there is a size that takes 18650 and you can just mod p60 drop-ins and def get over 300lm from that for less than 30 dollars
