nite ize Now a good way to carry my goodies. Already got my rebel, opalec/mag, an arc, pens, extra batteries, my multi-tool, and proably some thing else i forgot. I am still in school and kids wonder whay i carry so much, well i can't explain it i just like to be prepared. There aint much i can't do with the stuff i carry.. So what is yalls opinion on the rebel?? What about the pouch??

Thanks guys!! snapper

My Rebel is a very good LED light. I use it more than any other flashlight I have. It is also a lender with no worries. And it gets "free" batteries, as all my near dead batteries go to my Rebel. The accessory filters are pretty nifty, although I have not found any practical use for them.

As for the pouch, I don't use one. Too much stuff. I keep 'em in my backpack.

that's almost exactly like the one i use, right down to gerber knife! my minimag may be a bb400,opalec or inretch on any given day though.

The 2AA Rebel is a great light for the price. I keep one on my nightstand with the red filter on. I prefer red light for middle of the night bathroom and drink-of-water trips downstairs when my eyes are fully dark adapted. I can easily pull off the filter to give get a bright, white light when needed. I still think it is a little too large for a 2AA light though. I have an old 1960's vintage Ray-O-Vac 2C light that is shorter in overall length and only narrowly wider than the Brinkmann. I know, I'm nitpicking.

well i played with it last night and i love the throw of the beam. I am using this one alot for far off stuff and the mini mag opalec for up close..IT is a nice light..

Thanks guys

Re: the Rebel - watch out for the tailcap. Unless they improved them, I've seen several reports of them breaking off at the threads. Even saw one broken off still in the package at WalMart.

Brinkmann has fixed the problem that was causing the broken tailcaps on the Rebels. I went through a few that had to be exchanged until Brinkmann fixed the problem.

From the LEDMuseum, "I've already heard back from a representative from Brinkmann regarding the breakage issue, and apparently they have resolved it and newer units should not break in this manner anymore."

I'm not worried about my Rebel tailcap. Sometimes, I purposely screw and unscrew the cap repeately to see if I have the older tailcaps. Still solid. If it does break, I'll give Brinkmann a call for a new one.

Sometimes, I wish it was regulated. Hmm, it is such a large light for a 2 AA that it could have been easily regulated. I wonder how many acres are available inside?
