Yesterday I went to Cabelas and bought my first Surefire a 6P. The quality is outstanding and its now the brightest light I own.
It won't be your last Surefire either.
Did you have to pick the lock to pick up your light?
Kidding!
Congrats. The 6P is a very nice light.
Congrats. Best to just cancel your credit card, turn off your internet service, and never visit CPF again.
Actually its funny you said that I did have some trouble actually getting the light. First I went to the counter and waited aprox 15 minutes for someone to get the display case after trying it out I said I would buy one and they looked for one but apparently they were sold out(computer said 1 was in inventory)then they had to special order one from the distribution center which took a little over an hour for it to get to the store even though the distribution center was across the street. It took awhile to get it but it was worth the wait.
I am new here, so I hate to be the voice of dissent. I picked up a 6P LED a couple of weeks ago as my first "real light." Paid about $95 out the door of Bass Pro Shops. After taking it home and trying it out I was a bit disappointed, hence I found you guys while searching for info online.
I bought it as a replacement to my departmentally issued Stinger DS LED, wanting something smaller with similar features. It seemed to be a good fit, with 80 lumens and an eleven hour runtime, though it wasn't rechargeable. It would also allow me to use the "Surefire" method for low-light shooting where my Stinger neccesitated the "Harries" due to its size.
I found the light to be very blue, and not nearly as bright compared to my Stinger (which is also rated at 80 lumens "typical" whatever that means). The Stinger would clearly overpower it in a simple wall test. After reading on here for a while and looking over in the marketplace, I ordered an Olight T20 and found it to be much nicer.
The Olight has multiple light levels (like the Stinger) including one that is twice as bright as the 6P LED. It also has a strobe function (like the Stinger). I do not think I will ever use the SOS feature, but it doesn't hurt anything. Its overall dimensions are smaller than the 6P, and the light, at least to my eyes, is much whiter and not nearly as blue. To top it off, even new it is almost $30 cheaper. What am I missing? The 6P isn't a bad light by any means, but it seems there are cheaper lights with good quality and more features.

It was the one in Wheeling, WVBased on your brief description, I'm guessing this was the Highlands Cabela's? Am I correct? Congrats on your new 6P! My first "real" flashlight was a SureFire 6PL. In less than a year, I've bought a few more too (see my signature, they are listed in order or purchase).
