So after buying mostly every light my heart and my wallet desired I was able to pull the trigger on a Malkoff. After reading all the hype, I decided to order the MD2, shroud/clip, hi/lo switch while I waited for the M61 to be back in stock. Luckily I have a Blackberry and got the notification when they went back in stock and was one of the fortunate ones to get one. Had played with my M61 MD2 at home and my backyard while I took my doggies out and I was impressed. But since I paid $160 for this set up I decided the MD2 would be a shelf queen. Last week I was lucky again and logged on CPFMP just in time to :takeit:on a M60 from Weklund. When the mailman arrived I could not wait for the darkness to come. I put the M60 on my 6P with a Z59 Moddoo SS clip and (2) AW RCR123s. I suddenly fell in love. I noticed that the M60 had a nice white hot spot and had more throw and less flood than my M61. I have to say that it looks like some of my other lights are going to collect dust. I rotate my lights at work, but its going to be hard to put my 6P M60 down. My 6P is a "user" since it has been dropped and is a little pitted on the tailcap. Going to stick with the RCR123s instead of boring my 6P. I like running 2xRCR123=8.4 volts, instead of an 18650 at 4.2 volts. Now I want to even get another M60 for my G2Z or my C2 nightstand light. I know that there are some sick CPFers out there who have more that a couple of these. Going to throw on the Electronguru black crenelated bezel tonight. Am I in the Malkoff club?

BigLou,
It only takes one to be in the club! I belong to the 'sick' category myself, though I would prefer not to say 'how sick'. I love the concept of the hi/low ring, and there are only 2 things that have kept me from buying one of his hosts:
1) I have far more SF hosts and Gene's drop-ins than I truly need,
- and -
2) I like to be able to 'lego', and Gene has not come out with single-cell extensions yet. A MD2 that could be converted to an MD3 or MD4 would be the cat's meow.

Another Malkoff Xmas-list wish: An 'MD1' for an 'M31W'.

Gene is trying to catch up from both being out of production for awhile due to unforseen exigencies, and a changeover in his product line, so we just need to be patient for future developments.

Apart from making supreme complete flashlights and dropins, Malkoff make the world's best upgrades to two of the world's most reknowned flashlight brands. Not strange at all that you have got Malkoff fever! :)

Regards, Patric

+1 on the 'MD1' for an 'M31W'!
