Green Laser...........

I'm getting green 35mW Green laser laser in about 2 weeks. Can any body tell me how dangerous this thing is going to be??? Any other info would be much appreciated!

Don't shoot it into your eyes, the eyes of other people, the eyes of animals (like pet dogs or cats), vehicles of any type (ground-based or flying), or at mirrors or other reflective surfaces where the reflected beam can strike any of the targets I listed. And for heaven sakes, please don't fire it anywhere near a police officer - whether they're on the transmitting or receiving end of the beam.

Other than that, the laser isn't any more dangerous than a regular Class II or Class IIIA laser pointer.

Just be careful about shooting it near people, animals, or mirrors, and have fun with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Watch out for any surface that can produce specular reflections, including:

TV screens
Glassware & crystal
Silverware
Jewelry
Mirrors, of course
Automobile headlights (they're highly polished reflectors)
Windows
..and any other bright shiny or glassy surfaces

yeah, anything reflective can be bad, standing 1 foot away from a white wall and shining it eye level will also be VERY bright, almost blinding...shining into the eyes of anything WILL damage the eyes permanently. be careful with it.

Maybe you oughta start with a less expensive 5mw unit until you get comfortable with what's safe and what isn't. Even a 5mw greenie can be impressive and it still blows the doors off of a 5mw red laser any day.

I'd don't like those sputtering beamshots. Is that because some lasers cycle on-off really fast, instead of constant on? Doesn't matter, I guess, since I won't risk shipping over the border. Will have to wait along with the knives until my next expedition to a gunshow...hurray for Ohio!

Be careful. Don't let ANY CHILDREN play with it. Use common sense. Its not a disintegrator. They do sparkle nice and pretty though....

yeah, if you get that 35mW, dont keep it on for over 30 sec. at a time [i think thats what i've read] or it can overheat or something. i've started off with a true 5mW that just blew my mind since i've been so used to red laser pointers. but yeah, keep that 35mW away from children and eyes.
